On July 4, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted an Express Entry draw specifically targeting trade occupations, issuing 1,800 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency. This draw focused on skilled tradespeople, reflecting Canada’s ongoing commitment to addressing labor shortages in key sectors.
Candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 436 to receive an ITA. This targeted approach aims to attract experienced professionals in trades such as electricians, plumbers, and welders, essential for the country’s economic growth and infrastructure development.
The CRS score threshold indicates a balanced demand for skilled trade workers while maintaining high standards for entry. This draw underscores Canada’s proactive stance in welcoming skilled immigrants who can contribute to its workforce and communities, reinforcing the country’s reputation as a top destination for skilled professionals worldwide.
